Equestrian programmes are mostly ground plane: arenas, paddocks, circulation for animals and vehicles. An aerial is the only view that explains how those pieces relate, so the shot is composed to make the organisation legible while keeping enough light and shadow to stop it flattening into a site plan.
Ground materials varied across the site — sand, turf, gravel and paving all reading differently from height.
